Seattle SAKE Paddling Club
Paddles Up!
Seattle SAKE Paddling Club started in 1996 as a dragon boat paddling club. Several years ago it expanded to offer other paddle sports, OC6, SUP and kayak. Dragon boats are the heart and soul of SAKE.
SAKE offers a variety of programs and teams to meet the needs and experience levels of dragon boat paddlers from relaxed recreational to highly competitive. We also have a very special team of women who are cancer survivors, SAKE Survivors, our Ladies in Purple!
Dragon boat schedules (2023):
Dragon Boat 101: A free, dedicated clinic for new dragon boat paddlers, offered several Saturdays during late spring to early fall, 11:30a.m. - 1:30 p.m., at the South Leschi Marina.
During the land portion participants will receive instructions on stroke technique and safety commands from the coaching staff, get assigned a seat on the boat, and receive a PFD and paddle. For the water portion it's off to the boats to put together what was learned with a whole lot of fun added in.
August 26 and September 26 are the last two sessions in Summer 2023. Register for this at www.clubsake.com
